During the Roaring 20's, a lot of people migrated in hopes of a better life. When there was a lot of migration, there were some bills that were signed that stopped immigration. These bills stopped immigration to the U.S because these people wanted to work here. The reason I chose to draw this is because some of my ancestors even my father came to the U.S on a working Visa. From there he was able to get his citizenship and thanks to that I am here today. If these people were granted access to work here, they could've been able to provide a better life for their family. Many of these family who migrated made the movie with nothing left of valuables just to be denied access to the U.S so they lost the little they had left in a failed attempt to achieve a better life everyone wishes for. This ban lasted for 10 years. For me, this is a personal connection as to why I decided to depict this from my art.
